Of course, the day we begin moving
our shop, we get in a slew of awesome stuff, including Rohrer and Klingner Glass Pens, 5 new Diamine inks, and 2 new Edelstein colors! Before breaking down my studio, I decided to take pics and swabs of these cool new things and show them to you. I don't have much insight to give on these yet as we are dodging electricians fixing lights over our heads, we have things half-packed and in two different locations, and I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off to keep it all together, so this will just be more of a quickie introduction. I just wanted to introduce you to these brand new inks and glass pens now, since the
GPC shop will be turned upside down for the next week or so. I don't know how long it'll take me to get my studio back up and running as getting our shop operational and getting orders shipped out will be the highest priority for me. In any case, I hope you enjoy this little intro :)
Oooh - can't wait to get my hands on the glass pen with dichroic glass in the center. That is SO PRETTY!
ReplyDeleteAt least the Tanzanite looks a little more purple (as it should) than I'd heard, but the Turmaline is almost a dead on match for the pink part of watermelon tourmaline (http://www.mindat.org/min-10889.html).
I have a couple glass pens I picked up at an estate sale. I'd like to see some video demonstrations. Do you have any?

ReplyDeleteHow come the Diamine bottles don't have the names of the inks on the labels? Having a bunch of ink bottles and not knowing what color is in each them would drive me nuts!
ReplyDeleteDiamine does actually have a small sticker on the top of the cap that designates the ink color. I crop these out so that I can use the same bottle image for all of my pictures, that way I only have to take one image instead of 100! Funny enough, you're the first one to ever say anything to me about it since we've been carrying these inks nearly two years ago.
ReplyDeleteI've never mentioned it but it is a reason I have been reluctant to have more than one bottle on the desk. The 30ml of all the new colors are in a box so all I see are the tops.
ReplyDelete"It's the ink not the bottle", but I have to agree, it's pretty slack on Diamine's part. I'll assume it's the huge line of colors, but then Noodler shows that can be an outlet for creativity. Well in some colors. Others just have the same picture and a tiny color word up at the top.
I love Edelstein Inks! The colors Jade and Mandarin are also very, very vibrant and pretty!
