Noodler's contest of epic proportions

Nathan Tardif, the Willy Wonka of the ink and pen world, has announced an epic year-long artist contest calling for Noodler's artwork. Even if that doesn't interest you at all, the video is still great because he showcases the full line of his pens (including colors not yet released). His grand prize pen just defies explanation!

Nathan explains a couple of rather interesting experiences he had with sperm whales that inspired him to name his newest (soon to be available) color of Noodler's Flex Nib pen 'Ivory Darkness', which represents the contrast of color between the darkness of the whale and its white teeth.

Ivory Darkness will be the next available color of Noodler's Flex Nib pen to come, with others to follow in weeks later. A special shoutout to Mike for pointing out these videos to me ;)

  1. At the 10 min mark in the first video: "The fountain pen is a tool!" Amen.
I've been amazed at my Noodler's Creaper Roller with Noodler's Black. It's currently my favorite and performs better than many high dollar pens I have. There's no good reason why people can't use fountain pens.

  2. This is completely unacceptable! You have to insist that Nathan stop making such amazing and affordable pens because I feel constantly compelled to buy them. And, you and your amazingly wonderful business are facilitators of this compulsion. It's time for me to start looking for a second (maybe third) job... It's such a hard life. :)

  3. I love these tools! I too can't keep up with the pens and their inks, having to buy them all. Noodler's are second to none! Nathan is Great!!

  4. Nathan is truly the mad genius, and we're darn lucky to have him. Good on you Goulets for your enthusiasm for him, too.

  5. I should probably mention too, in the second video, Nathan talks about how he'd rather 'discontinue an ink than raise the price'. There aren't any immediate plans to discontinue #41 Brown, he's still negotiating on the price of the raw materials. If the price is really high, though, he probably would cut it....I hope not! It's a really popular color, one of the best browns out there...
