I'm back, baby!!!!!

I announced last week, rather suddenly, that I would take a week long hiatus from Ink Nouveau to recharge my batteries. I did that, and I'm glad I did.

There are some changes I'm going to make to Ink Nouveau, good changes! I want to set up dedicated topics for each day of the week. Here's what I'm thinking:

Sunday: Tips and Tricks (Ink Blots, tips and advice for making your writing experience better)
Monday: Ink Stuff (reviews, details, features, comparisons, etc)
Tuesday: Write Time Itinerary (topics to discuss, taking questions, etc)
Wednesday: Write Time recorded video
Thursday: Paper Stuff (overviews, comparisons, etc)
Friday: Random cool stuff (writing related)
Saturday: GouletPens/Product Announcements

The whole point of all this is to keep myself on a schedule as well as give you something to look forward to. I think keeping a daily blog will be easier for me with a layout like this, and it will also make it more enjoyable for you because you'll know what to expect. I'll be talking more about my break and what I plan to do moving forward during my next Write Time at 9 broadcast.

I want to thank everyone for your support, patience, and great ideas during my hiatus. I want to be very interactive and really keep a good conversation going, so keep the feedback coming! You can keep in touch by posting here on Ink Nouveau, joining the GPC Facebook fanpage, and following me on Twitter. The more you talk with me and tell me what you like, the more I can focus on the stuff you like to read!

  2. Thanks! It's funny, I actually set this blog to post at midnight on the 14th, but I set the wrong date like a dum-dum. I was wondering all day why no one had commented on it, DUH! I never posted it :P I realized this at about 11pm, so I quickly posted it because I had an exciting ink post for Monday scheduled out at midnight already!!

I like your idea of the scheduled topics. Keep in mind that it is OK to take a week (or more) anytime you need it. Recharged batteries are good!

Looking forward to the new posts.

  4. I think you should take at least one day off a week. Everyone deserves a day off. Even God took one. :)

  5. Sara, I actually do take days off, you just don't see them ;) I can schedule blog posts to go up automatically, so I usually end up working the blog 2 or 3 days a week, doing up multiple posts at once, then I schedule them out. It's easier for me that way, and it allows for consistency and regularity for you and everyone else reading! I appreciate your concern for me though, I'm definitely not going to be afraid to take time off as I need it from now on.

  6. Excellent idea on the scheduled days thing. You could always add a "breaking news" format for quick updates if you have something that's time-dependent and doesn't fit in to the schedule, of course making it brief ("New Noodler's ink coming! Film at eleven/more info on Tuesday/review coming soon/whatever!") so it doesn't eat up your day.

Hope everyone is back to feeling well at your house!

  7. Brian - Yay for scheduled posts! I love technology. As a fellow workaholic...okay, not that word...but as someone who loves and is passionate about her work, too, and also self-employed, I know it can be hard to take time off even when you know you need it, especially when the work is just always THERE. In your HOUSE! So I'm glad you'll heed the call to rest when it comes!
