The Ink Drop- New Monthly Ink Club at GouletPens.com!!!!

This club is the first of it's kind ever done (that I know of) in the fountain pen world. At GouletPens.com we've set up a monthly ink sample membership club designed to provide a fun and exciting experience with testing various fountain pen inks!

The club is called the Ink Drop, sort of a play on words....the drop representing both the 'ink sample' aspect of the club and the fact the inks are literally being 'dropped' off in your mailbox!

Here's the deal:
  • Sign up for a $10 monthly membership ($15 for international members), and you are automatically mailed 5 ink samples (2ml) each month with a 'theme' for the month to hint your colors. Each month will be 5 little surprises for you to try! September will be 'Back to School' colors.
  • You can purchase full bottles of the corresponding ink samples at a 10% discount for the duration of the month!
  • Members gain access to a special Ink Drop 'members only' section of GouletPens.com for special deals on inks and other items (like glass pens or the empty glass bottles I have left over from all of the samples....)
  • Special Ink Drop newsletters will be sent out to members for the hottest news in the ink world, as well as first notification of the arrival of new colors and limited edition products.
  • I will do Ustream live broadcasts towards the end of each month with the topic of the Ink Drop colors, for an interactive chat about your experiences with the inks.
  • There are over 280 ink colors available at GouletPens.com, so you will always be able to find new inks you've been longing to try. Our current brands are J. Herbin, Diamine, Caran d'Ache, Private Reserve, Sheaffer, and Pelikan, and Noodler's and Platinum are ordered and on their way!
This is going to be an incredibly fun program with a lot of potential for fellowship and fun with other ink lovers. I'm a serious inkoholic myself and I want to share that addiction passion with all of you! ;)

Sign up for the Ink Drop monthly ink sample club today and join in on the fun!

  3. I just signed up. This is a great idea. I know Fountain Pen Network had an ink exchange program (don't know if it's still up and running). Maybe the two could interface, so for instance, out of the 5 monthly samples, one could exchange 3 at FPN for other colors? That way you wouldn't have to get in the middle of "special requests" (which would be a nightmare). Also, could you post a picture of what the sample vials would look like for prospective members. Is it easy to fill ink with piston fillers (like Pelikan) from them?

  4. I'm not going to be able to coordinate individual exchanges on FPN, that would be a nightmare for me! The FPN ink exchange is not set up as a retailer selling samples to customers, it's forum members making exchanges with each other, and I think it will stay that way. If someone isn't crazy about an Ink Drop sample for the month, they can trade with whomever they want, and the FPN thread is a great way to do that.

I like the idea of a picture of the bottles. The ones be currently use are actually the exact same as the ones commonly used in the FPN ink exchange, so anyone who has those 7ml vials is familiar with ours. I'll work on a picture though.

  5. I can't do it for September, but I'll be signing up in October or November (Financial aid refund for school... ink totally counts as a school expense. That's where I'll be using most of it).

I'll probably end up buying the samples I miss, just cause I'm a completionist. :x

  6. Brian, I am not sure if you covered it, but will you announce what inks you're sending out each month so people can decide when to join (fresh or renew a membership)? I think it'd be a good idea for someone like me who's holding out but then sees that next month you're featuring Diamine Greens and maybe that's something I'm into so it'll be incentive for me to join.

  7. sygyzy, I will be announcing the theme for each month, but not the specific colors. September is 'Back to School'! I will post the actual colors about a week after I mail them out, so everyone will have the ability to be surprised (if they want). I'll post the actual colors for all to see on the 7th of each month, and since I'm allowing signups for September until the 14th, you'll have a week where you'll know the actual colors of the month while still being able to join in that month. Of course, you can always just buy the individual samples themselves, too, but then you miss out on the special deals ;)
